The Companions for these two Covenants seem to be lacking some of the strength and synergies that Necrolord and Night Fae players enjoy. There are currently Covenant balance issues with the Adventures tables - most notably for players who choose the Kyrian or Venthyr Covenants. It may even change your mind about which Sanctum systems to unlock, depending on your Covenant. These are all acquired through Renown and all start out at level 1, just like all the previous Companions.Īt Renown levels 52, 67, and 76, you will receive Wisps of Memory which allows you to add 75000 experience to any one of your Adventure Companions.Ĭurrent Challenges with the Adventures Systemīefore elaborating on the Adventures system, it's important to lay out some of the current design challenges of Adventures, so that you are aware of them from the beginning. Patch 9.1, Chains of Domination, adds 3 new Companions to each Covenant. Paying attention to this will allow you to refine your choice of who to send against what type of enemy for greater successes. When the adventure is complete, you will see it play out turn by turn. You will be able to select up to five Companions to participate in the Adventure. With Adventures, your units' abilities are not static counters, they are combat abilities that are used directly to defeat enemy forces in battle. Previous versions have required selecting units with abilities that counter requirements for the mission. Like previous iterations of Missions, your Companions have special abilities which are used in battle. You can also view (but not interact with) your Scouting Map in the Covenant Sanctum Report accessed from the Covenant icon on your minimap. As with previous Missions, Adventures is a system for offline progression, meaning that you set up what you want to do and the majority of advancement is done in real time without your direct interaction. They are an abstracted, turn based combat system that relies more on tactical ability management and less on pure RNG than the Missions that we are used to.
